The 13th Annual Wheels to Meals Bike Ride

WHEELS TO MEALS IS CANCELED

Thank you for everyone for your support and interest in Wheels to Meals this year. Unfortunately, due to low pre-registrations, construction on our major routes, and shared routes with other events, we have decided to cancel this event.

We'd like to encourage everyone who has registered or planned to register to have your own "virtual" ride this Saturday to raise awareness and help us fight hunger. If you would like, you can send pictures of your ride to James Harper at development@foodconnection.org and he will be able to share your efforts with our whole community.

If you'd like to join, our director, Kevin Glackin-Coley, will be riding the Chehalis Western Trail this coming Sunday morning as part of his and his team's commitment to ride. You can email him at keving@foodconnection.org if you'd like to join him!

HUNGER IS REAL

DON'T TAKE A STAND - TAKE A RIDE

Join us Saturday, June 30th for the 13th Annual Wheels to Meals, the annual fundraiser for the Food Connection. All routes (10-75 miles) start and end at WSU's Puyallup Campus.  The ride will take you through the scenic Puyallup Valley and surrounding area.

You'll enjoy great support, including mechanical support from Old Town Bicycle, SAG wagons and rest stops along the course, and delicious food and drink when you finish. All that, and you'll be helping provide food for thousands of Pierce County households.

Cyclists are asked to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges to support the St. Leo Food Connection's emergency food programs fighting hunger in Pierce County. We operate one of the state's largest food banks, a mobile food bank, a backpack program that provides food over the weekend for children at risk of hunger, and numerous summer meals sites for children. Ride options include 10, 20, 32, 56 and 75 miles.

Start time for riders goes from 7:30am to 10am, and we're asking riders of the 56 and 75 mile course to be on the road by 9am (so our folks at the rest stops know you're coming!). Celebrations at the end of the course will be from 11am-3pm, with a final rider call at 3pm.
